In honor of summer and skateboarding and surfing, check this out…
A belated congratulations on the beginning of summer! I finally have finished uploading your films. Enjoy! You did great work on these final projects.
There is simply no other way for me to say it, other than, I will really miss you guys. This year, you were my crazy A block class that brimmed with life, energy, attitude and passion every day. You regularly surprised me with your humor, your ideas, and your intensional antagonism toward each other. :0 But, in some way, you were like a bunch of brothers and sisters in an alternative family. It was truly my pleasure to be a part of that. (Since I’m old, I’ll be the auntie or something.)
As you move forward in your filmmaking practice, try to remember what worked for you and what didn’t; try to pay attention to the details of your planning, and the execution of your ideas. There is great artistic energy brewing amongst you, so let that come to the surface. And remember, no matter what you do (J.S., C.S., and a few others of you bailing on film) listen to your heart. Great art comes from a place that is real. KEEP IT REAL!
Can’t say “good-bye”, so let’s just say to be continued…
